Whether you’re onboard or at home, your boat’s battery or battery pack status should be one of your top concerns. Keeping it healthy prolongs its lifespan and stops your other electronics from being damaged. Fluctuating DC power levels are something to keep an eye on when looking at battery maintenance, but how can you keep track of it easily? The VirCru Battery Sensor is the perfect solution for the problem! Designed to keep track of the DC voltage, the boat battery sensor (via the VirCru app) allows you to set high and low levels for the sensor and sends you alerts whenever the voltage peaks or dips above or below the set levels. Giving you peace of mind that your battery is healthy. The battery sensor also tracks the status of your isolator switch, giving you complete battery monitoring knowledge on your smart device of choice!

Installing the sensor itself is as easy as attaching it to a flat surface using 3M™ Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fastener, which works similarly to traditional hook and loop fasteners. But utilises a unique shape that ensures a stronger connection and better adhesion between surface and sensor. The battery voltage monitoring leads ‘Battery Positive’ and ‘Battery Negative’ are connected before the battery isolator and the ‘Isolator’ lead after the battery isolator. When connecting your battery sensor to the battery, we recommend consulting the manual to ensure it is done correctly.

With the VirCru app you can monitor your vessel’s battery power level with a few taps on your smart device of choice. Supported on both android and iOS, remotely monitoring and interacting with your boat has never been easier. The app is necessary for you, the user, to communicate with your VirCru Hub and battery sensor and monitor your system remotely. The Battery Sensor communicates with the VirCru Connected Hub which then transfers the data to our servers and on to your app and allows you to set voltage levels for alerts as well as control it. As an added bonus, the boat battery sensor also keeps track of ambient temperature wherever the sensor is installed.
